'Wave of light' Event - 15th 0ct 7pm Guildford
This thursday will see Guildford's Tunsgate Arch spectacularly lit-up by candles, mood lighting and the beautiful voice of the ACM Gospel Choir.
Thursday 15th October is International Baby Loss Awareness Day. This is a globally recognised day to remember babies lost during pregnancy, at birth or soon after.
A candle is lit at 7pm local time and left to burn for 1 hour to remember these babies that lit up our lives.
The Surrey Circular Cycle Challenge is holding an event in conjunction with Surrey Sands under Tunsgate Arch, Guildford High Street.
The event will be attended by local MP and shadow health minister Anne Milton, Guildford's Deputy Mayor Marsha Moseley and many other local dignitaries. Guildford's ACM Gospel Choir (BBC Semi-finalists) who have recently toured with Russell Watson will be performing a 15 minute acapella performance and will be preceeded by talented soloist Olivia Chapman.
For anyone wishing to attend please gather under Tunsgate Arch from about 6.45pm. A representative from Surrey Sands will open the event a few minutes before 7pm with a few words. This will be followed by candles being lit at 7pm. One minutes silence will then be held to reflect. Poems and readings and the music will follow and the event will close with one minute's silence and the release of helium dove ballons
Please bring your own candles at your own risk, the more variety the better! Ideas could include lanterns, tea lights in jam jars etc.
We look forward to your support.
